Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Administrators have been called in to Roadexpress, the Coventry-based courier which handles much of the road deliveries for British Rail's parcels subsidiary Red Star.

This follows a county court judgement at Nottingham on Wednesday 25,August.

Joint administrators at Lutterworth-based FA Simms & Partners said last week that the company was still trading while investigations continue into its financial position. There had been no redundancies as CM went to press; Roadexpress has a fleet of 155 commercials.

In a separate move, it is believed that "a grouping linked to Roadexpress," is making a bid for Red Star, currently being sold under the Government's privatisation plans.

E Bristol-based Amtrak Express Parcels stresses that it is not associated with Roadexpress.
