Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EIGHT modeIs from the current range of goods vehicles produced by Seddon Diesel Vehicles, Ltd., Oldham, will he exhibited on the Seddon stand at Earls Court, The chassis displayed will range from a 24,ton-gross eight-wheeler to a 7-ton fourwheeler with a new Perkins power unit, and will include a six-wheeled 17-ton-gross model. With the exception of the chassis with the new Perkins engine (details of which must be withheld for the time being), all the vehicles to be shown have been in production for at least a year.

The largest exhibit is the DD-8 17-ft. 9-in.-wheelbase eight wheeler, powered by a Gardner 6LX sixcylindered oil engine, the gross power output of which is 1.50 b.h.p. at 1,700 r.p.m. and 485 lb.-ft. at 1,000 r.p.m. The example on display will be in chassis-cab form and is one of an order for CyprienFox Transport, Ltd. It will have a double-drive rear bogie with overheadworm axles, and five-speed constant-mesh gearbox. Power-assisted steering will be a feature, and full air-pressure braking has been specified, with 'brake units on all axles.

A Leyland 0.375 oil engine, developing 110 b.h.p., will be installed in the 15110/TA six-wheeler, which will be shown with standard plastics-panelled cab. This chassis has a Moss spiral-bevel driving axle with a reduction ratio 6.83 to I. and a dead trailing axle carrying identical braking units to those on the driving axle.

Bogie suspension consists of four semielliptic springs with balance beams, and telescopic dampers are fitted to the front axle. Power-assisted steering gear is used. This chassis is rated for a gross weight of 17 tons when the standard 10.09-20-in. (14-ply) tyres are fitted to all wheels, but this rating can be increased to 18 tons by using 16-ply equipment of the same nominal size on the front wheels.

The six-wheeler is virtually a third-axle conversion of the standard 15/10 14-tongross four-wheeler, an example of which will be on display also. Both types have identical engine and transmission specifications, although the choice of power units in addition to the Leyland 0.375 includes Gardner 4LW and 5LW engines. The six-wheeler to be shown has a wheel top constant-mesh gearbox will be fitted, and the 7-ft. 6-in.-wheelbase tractive unit will have Scammell automatic coupling gear. The tyres are to be Michelin "X" 10.00-20-in.

Three examples of the latest Seven Tonner model are to be displayed, one of these being in tractive-unit form, rated for 16 tons gross train weight and having the new Perkins oil engine. Both the other models are 14-ft. 6-in, wheelbase versions powered by Leyland 0.350 105b.h.p. oil engines with five-speed gearboxes and spiral-bevel rear axles. One of these exhibits will be the last of an order recently put through the works for British Road Services, and will be seen in B.R.S. livery.
