Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PRODUCT1ON of commercial vehicles in the first half of this year totalled 235,619, compared with 176,457 in the first six months of 1959. There was also an improvement in exports, 79,318 vehicles being sent overseas from January-June this year Compared with 66,735 in the corresponding period of last year.

An output record was attained in June with the manufacture of 48,384 vehicles. This compared with the previous highest level set up in March with the production of 46,374 units.

Exports in June, totalling 12,792 vehicles, were not as many as in the two preceding months, hut were nevertheless at a better level than 12 months previously. Details appear in the tables.

The Board of Trade put the output of goods vehicles in July at 26,592, compared with 46,674 in June. A total of 1,256 passenger vehicles was produced in July, 454 fewer than in the preceding month. Weekly average production of goads vehicles in July was 6,648 and of passenger vehicles 314.

Exports of goods vehicles in July, at 11,645, were a slight improvement upon the June figure, whilst the total of passenger-vehicle exports, 447, represented a drop of 105.
