THE demand for heavy-duty batteries for passenger and commercial vehicles had increased substantially during the past year, said Mr. John Oldham, chairman, Oldham and Son, Ltd., at the annual meeting last week. Further progress had been made in the supply of Pg double sleeve traction and industrial batteries and ground lost in the export field the previous year had been recovered, he added.

To bring the share capital into line with the value of assets,, Mr. Oldham stated that it was proposed to distribute to ordinary shareholders further ordinary shares in the proportion of one new share to every two held at August 25.
