THE end of traffic in shale lorries on the roads of Monmouthshire, taking filling materials to the site of the new Spencer Steelworks, Llanwern, is now in sight_ Sir Robert McAlpine and Sons, Ltd., the main contractors, stated last week that from tonight the night haulage of filling materials would come to an end.

From now onwards lorries will be received at the site only between 7.30 am.5.30 p.m. on weekdays and from 7.30 a.m.-3.30 p.m. on Saturdays. At the peak of the operation lorries were making as many as 5,000 journeys daily to Llanwern.

WEEK-END COURSE AT OXFORD

PAA SERIES of lectures and discussions on the theme of interrelation ea inland and international transport will be held during a week-end course being organized by the Institute of Transport, at New College, Oxford, from September 16-19. "Inland Transport" will be presented by Mr. R. L. H. Farmer, managing director of Atlas Express Co. Ltd., on the Saturday morning.

iTexpand their tyre distribution nterests, Kerry's (Great Britain), Ltd., have formed a new company to be known as Kerry's Tyre Services, Ltd. Mr. M. S. Norton, who has for several years been general manager of Kerry's, has been appointed joint managing director in conjunction with Mr. W. N. Hart.
