U.S. Austin Taxis Save Fuel: Several Austin oil-engined taxis are in use in Detroit and , the American distributors for the model state that the vehicles are averaging 25 m.p.g. (U.S.) compared with no more than 10 m.p.g. from American cabs. Austin's hope to export up to 200 taxis per month to the U.S.A.
