Their average hourly earnings were 4s. 10.3d., giving an average weekly wage of about £13 18s. 6(1. In road passenger transport, excluding London Transport, the working week averaged 50.3 hours at a rate of 5s. 0.2d. per hour, or about 112 12s. 6d, a week.

By contrast, in the motor industry the average working week was 47.4 hours, and the average hourly earnings were 8s, 0.3d.
