Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A FOUR-WEEK pay dispute which severely disrupted one of Christian Salvesen's main distribution depots is over, following major concessions from the company.

The 50 drivers and fitters at the cold storage depot in Easton. Lincolnshire are now the best paid of any in the company's UK operations, according to senior shop steward Chris Lockton.

An overtime ban coupled with a series of four 24-hour stoppages started at the end of last month, disrupting deliveries to Tesco, Asda and Safeway.

The Transport & General Workers Union claims that the company originally wanted to finance any increase by cutting holiday allowances and sick pay and increasing weekend work. The revised deal, which was accepted by a majority of three-toone last week, increases basic pay from £5.91 to f6.74/hour. Overtime pay has risen to £10.11/hour and anyone working a six-day week will receive £12.50/hour on the final day.

Lockton says the company justified its original offer on the grounds that the depot was losing money, but he was not swayed by this Salvesen says it is pleased the dispute is over: "Christian Salvesen is pleased to confirm the recent dispute with drivers and fitters at its Easton depot is resolved. We now look forward to focussing on delivering high standards of customer service from the depot during the busy prc-Christmas period."
