The soaring value of land is one reason. It's a tough decision for local authoriti( to keep land aside for truc when they could sell it to developer to build afforda housing. The housing is often badly needed, and i increase in available houE is always a bigger vote winner than more trucks c voters' doorsteps.
Chrys Rampley at the RHA says: "The problerr not just that local author' are selling off many of their truck parks, but tha they are not providing alternatives. Even when they do, the alternative is often smaller than the parkinc it replaces, which leaves a lot of trucks looking for somewhere else to park,"
