Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Steve Barclay, Wean Freight Services, says: We would definitely join the fuel protest. The government is killing the haulage industry; we can't take any more after congestion charging. We should do what the French do and blockade."

Neil Blow, Shakespeare Transport, Maidstone, says: The high cost of fuel is pricing many hauliers out of the market. We've had a particular problem recruiting subbies, there are far fewer than there used to be and we can only think that this is a direct result of the fuel price. I'm not going out to protest because I'm quitting the industry in two weeks: I can't see any future in it."
