• Tyneside PTA is to hold a special meeting to discuss bus services in the Newcastle upon Tyne area, which are seriously affected by a manpower shortage. In recent weeks Sunday services have been considerably depleted due to absenteeism. Aid A. Cunningham, chairman of the PTA, has stated that the position involved a whole problem of industrial relations.
• Teesside Municipal Transport has accepted the tender of Stomo, Camberley, for installing radio telephone equipment in the department's buses, at a cost of £37,945. An aerial will be erected at Hudson House, Thornaby-on-Tees. Running costs are expected to be about £15,000 a year. • Nottingham City Transport's traffic revenue for the year ended March 31 1970 amounted to £2,904,209 (1969: £2,667,883), but total working expenses increased resulting in the net loss being E53,256 less at £57,946. Mileage operated was 11,895,243 (including 40,000 additional miles caused by highway pattern changes) and the number of passengers carried fell by almost l+m to 91,156,839.
