THIS year there are 32 stands showing transport service equipment at the Commercial Motor Show. This is one fewer than at the last show and 11•

less than were seen in 1960. .

Apaseal Ltd. (Stand 153) is exhibiting for the first time the company's three-way, all-round lubrication and service kit— this includes various lubricating compounds and lubricants, a lubricating gun

and promotional material. •

New exhibits from Applied Power Industries Inc. (U.K.) Ltd. (Stand 163) include an Alt-in-One" 1-ton crane and air-operated fin. impact wrench for head nuts, wheel nuts and so on, airoperated power chisel sets, and a one side spot welder. Completely new items being shown by this concern are an air-operated 1-in, impact wrench, an air-operated sander and a tyre removal and replacement machine. Also on this stand is the company's new Chobert type " D " repetition riveter, fitted with pneumaticallyoperated mandrel locking jaws to reduce mandrel reload time.

New exhibits from Britool Ltd. on Stand 151 include a new range of combination wrenches, owner/driver toolkits, a torque wrench machine, and a range of merchandiser panels.

Shown by The Equipment and Engineering Co. Ltd. (Stand 324) for the first time is the Februat Junior washer, a portable unit designed for use with small vans. Another new exhibit is the Britannia vehicle washing machine, designed to give a one minute drivethrough wash to light vans and cars.

Leslie Hartridge Ltd. shows on Stand 150 a full range of diesel fuel injection test and service equipment. Shown for the first time is the new Series 1500 heavyduty test stand—intended for the larger range of singleand multi-cylinder fuel injection pumps. These machines, manufactured specifically to customer's order, are fitted with a special variable speed gear of the same type as that on the Series 11200 machine. Speed range of the Series. 1500 is from 0-1,000 r.p.m.

Shown for the first time by Hill Equipment Ltd. (Stand 170) is the Auto-Exactor Mark V electronic test tuner.This is a portable, fully transistorized unit suitable for quick and easy testing. Power is supplied by the unit's own battery—mains supply is not required. The Mark V, which will be on demonstration, is 3 ft. 8 in.. high. 2 ft. wide and 1 ft. 5 in. deep.

On Stand 157 Kismet Ltd. are showing several items new to this Show. These include an air and water well. which has retractable air and water hose reel mechanisms complete with controls enclosed in a rust-proof metal container. Also shown for the first time is a forecourt air reel, for ground, wall, or overhead mounting. Another new item shown is a general-purpose hot water jet cleaner, designed to remove the wax coating applied to new vehicles at the factory. Time for de-waxing is 10-15 minutes.

Demonstrated for the first time by Lewis Berger (Great Britain) Ltd. (Stand 292) is the first thixotropic undercoat available in this country. This can be supplied by brush or spray. Another "

first-timer" shown on this stand is the acrylic-based Bergacryl repair enamel, claimed to have extreme durability.

Merlin Engineering Co. Ltd. is showing many new items on Stand 161. An interesting exhibit is the Merlin/Cummins PT/PTG test bench, This has a 5 h.p. motor suitable only for Cummins engines and has been approved and recommended by the Cummins Engine Co. The Merlin/ Cummins PT/PTG test unit is portable and is suitable for use with any test bench. It is self-contained and mounted on a tubular frame with castors to give mobility. This unit is also recommended by Cummins.. Other new items on this stand are an injector test unit, a quickgrip injector holder, a hydromatic injector analyser, a Leyland needle lift gauge, an illuminated magnifier, an electroscopic timing attachment, an automatic advance indicator, a Minimec tool kit, an " A " size tool kit, a portable lift pump tester,

a nozzle nut removing scanner and Intel national " RD" equipment_

A junior counterpart of the Progre5 Universal heavy-duty industrial for cleaner, the Compact is being shown b Progress (Universal) Ltd. (Stand 169 This light, sturdy cleaner can be use readily by women. It has a similar osci lating action to the Progress Universal.

Introduced earlier this year, but bein featured at this Show for the first tiff on Stand 154 are items from ft Tecalemit-Rocket wash systems, show• by Tecalemit (Engineering) Ltd. T1automatic systems incorporate the Roth Conveyor, claimed as most efficient f: fast vehicle washing.

On Stand 147 Tip Top Vulcanizir Products introduce the new Tip Tc Sealastic tubeless repair_ Spikes for tyre modified and improved since last yea are also shown. A repair kit and repa items are further items featured.

On Stand 162 Triangle Products Lt show for the first time what is claimed 1 be the only British motor-driven, rolte type brake tester for the heaviest type ( 4-,6and 8-wheelers. A further new exhit on this stand is the Triangle-Blair Pulstra body straightener. This consists of air( portable units which can be us( separately or together. This straighten, makes pulls of up to 114-tons. Ali shown here for the first time is t1 Triangle Mark II steam cleaner—a pot able, electrically driven, oil-fired unit.

Vane Electrical Instruments Ltd. (Star 171) show their new range of battei chargers. This includes two Junii models. 1VIodel 2300 (6 and 12 V.) has t output of 10 A. Model 2350 (6 and 12 No has an output of 20 A. Also shown 1 Vane. is a boost charger which gives output of 30A. at 6 or 12V. or 15 A. 24 V. A power boost displayed (6, 12 at 24 V.) also has an output of 30 A. 15 A. Also shown is the Vane headlig tester, the Tune-Scope -and Tune-Tron analyse rs.
