• West Midlands-based UK Motor Auctions plans to expand its operations.
Set up five years ago at Warley on a 2.6ha site next to J2 of the M5, the company initially specialised in cars. But in the past 12 months it has developed the commercial vehicle side of its business from 10-15 units a week to selling 60-70 at each sale on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 11.30am.
"By specialising in commercial vehicles sales as well as cars the business has grown very quickly," says UK Motor Auctions manager John Edwards. "We hope to open a new site soon, within easy access of a motorway and in a suitably prosperous area."
The company offers a collection and delivery service, an on-site storage compound, valeting and lettering removal.
