Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE tank wagon has won a definite place for itself in the sphere of transport by road motor, and vehicles of this type are now used for carrying not only motor spirit, for which they have for long been employed, but also milk, beer, oils and other commodities which can be dealt with in The vehicle which is shown in the accompanying illustration is intended for another use, that of conveying the rubber latex from plantations in Malacca, Straits Settlements, to a central plant. The tanker consists of a 30-cwt. Morris chassis, to which a Dshaped tank has been fitted by the Steel Barrel Co., Ltd., of Uxbridge, who, as cur readers will know, are the sole designers and manufacturers of this particular form of tank.

In view of the class of load which has to he carried, the tank could not be constructed of iron or steel, and it has therefore been made of malleable nickel throughout, including the manhole, manhole cover and outlet pipe, these components being constructed of that metal as the liquor is not permitted to come into contact with any part of the body which is not made of nickel.

B48 The body was constructed to the order of Huntington, Heberlein and Co., Ltd., King William Street, London, E.C.4. The tank has a capacity of 330 gallons, and the manner in which it is

carried can be clearly seen in our picture ; a note should be made of its low centre of gravity. It will be seen that the vehicle is shod with pneumatic tyres of large size.
