used truck this week is actually a van: a 2011-registered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
It is a 61-plate with the 0M651 engine producing 129hp and 305Nm torque, and has done more than 18,250 miles. It also has Bluetooth technology, cruise control and central locking.
Access to the loadspace can be gained through the side door and the back, and the rear of the van has been ply-lined by the previous owner — a necessity in this day and age to protect bodywork. The van is being sold by Mercedes truck and van dealership Mertrux.
Used buyers are a picky bunch, and late-year vans are exposed to some aggressive deals by manufacturers as they try to inject some business into new sales. However, there is a dearth of late-year products available in the open market, so both volume and demand have subsided hand-in-hand, which has helped to maintain prices.
If you need a van now, then the used van sector is the place to get it, and the Sprinter remains one of the most desirable 3.5-tonne panel vans.
