logistics companies are invited to attend one of two Breakfast with Logistics events being held this month by Skills for Logistics (SfL).
"The logistics industry needs new blood, and Breakfast with Logistics is a great way to explain how SfL can help employers [to get] recruits at an entry level and then develop them in their own way," said Susan Chapman, programme manager at SfL.
"We will also be welcoming visitors from schools and colleges to discuss the ways in which we can convey to pupils how great the logistics industry is to work in, the career path open to recruits and the willingness of employers to develop talent." The free-to-attend, trade-fair style events will feature table-top displays focusing on various SfL programmes. One such programme will be the Logistics Locker, a website being launched by SfL to help employers, schools and colleges to engage with each other. Other featured SfL schemes include the Professional Development Stairway, Labour Market Intelligence, and the Skills Calculator.
The first of the events takes place at the Novotel in Milton Keynes on 15 May, and the second event is on 23 May at the Novotel in Coventry. Both events run from 8am until 12.30pm.
