licence revoked and its managing director has been barred from holding an 0-licence for two years. But West Midland Deputy Licensing Authority Roger Seymour said his decision to disqualify John Pointon would not take effect for 28 days, or until any appeal has been determined

Seymour said the breaches of an environmental condition and a series of other convictions amounted to an almost reckless disregard of the law.

The company, which held a licence for 26 vehicles and 14 trailers, had been convicted of several offences involving the carriage of animal waste which was not suitably contained and covered to prevent it escaping.

Seymour said the company had lost its good repute.
