The body construction is simpler, stronger and lighter than the current Metrobus structure, and interior trim is also simplified.

A brief test drive between MCW's Birmingham works and South Yorkshire brought to light no handling problems with the three-axle vehicle. Compared with earlier standard Metrobuses, both buses were quiet with positive power steering. The Rolls-Royce engined vehicle seemed quieter and more lively than the Gardner bus.
