Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN AMERICAN company — Midwest Truck and Equipment Locators Inc of Indianapolis— has set up an office in Weybridge, Surrey in a bid to sell used trucks and plant in Europe. The company specialises in selling construction plant in America but also has contacts in the truck market. It is looking to the long-distance haulage market for sales of used on-road vehicles.

At a London press conference last week "Big Erv" Darrough, the company's president, revealed that typical vehicles on offer are 19 Mack tractors with Allis Chalmers engines. Though two years old — with over 100,000 miles on the clock — these vehicles are said to be in good condition and would sell in Europe at about £10,000 each.

Mr Darrough indicated an increasing interest in the UK and European markets by American makers. Several had produced right-hand-drive prototypes which met all UK regulations and would prob ably have set up in business here but for the economic situation. Midwest Truck Locators is prepared to act as concessionaries for new trucks if requested.

The company is based at 28 Queens Road, Weybridge, Surrey (telephone W'eybridge 52337).
