REPRESENTATIONS were made to the national executive committee of the Road Haulage Association on Wednesday about the activities of certain undesirable clearing houses. They were particularly concerned with "clearing houses who, failing to honour their obligations, cease to function, but whose principals commence to operate almost immediately under another trading style." These establishments are not members of the R.H.A.

YORKSHIRE-HOLLAND LINK? pONSIDCRING themselves well placed to operate a semi-trailer service tO Holland, via Hull, 25 hauliers from Yorkshire are to visit the Royal Dutch Association of Transport Enterprises on May 17. The trip was initiated by York Subarea of the Road Haulage Association. The hauliers will be guests at a conference and dinner at s'Gravenhage. and hope to discuss the possibility of standardizing semi-trailer connections.

JULY 13 AT OXFORD JULY 13 has been fixed as the date • of the Oxford eliminating round of the Lorry Driver of the Year Competition. It will be held at the R.A.R Station, Bicester, starting at 9 a.m. The closing date for the entries is June 21.
