]kfiEMBERS of the. Liverpool Cart 'Viand Motor Owners' Association have been advised to increase charges listed in the cartage rate book to 162i per cent., equal to 5 per cent. on the present consolidated rates. There are exceptions. The new scale for smalls to and from railways, canals, carrying companies and coastal steamers has been adjusted as follows:.

Under 1 cwt., by arrangement; 1 cwt., 5s. 6d.; 1-3 cwt.. 6s. 3d.; 3-5 cwt., 6s. 94.; 5-10 cwt., 7s. 3d.; 10-12 cwt.. 8s. Lots above 12 cwt. are charged at the appropriate tonnage rate, with an 8s. minimum. These charges apply to movements within the first and adjacent zones as laid down in the Ministry of Transport's old zoning scheme. For longer hauls, there is an 8d. addition for each farther zone.

Rates for linen from Belfast steamers are:-One package. 6s. 4d.; two packages, 9s. 8d.; over two packages.

4s. 10d. each. The porterage charge for coastal steamers is 5s. per ton, The amendments do not 'apply to traffic carried for the Raw Cotton Commission, the Ministry of Food, the National Egg Distributors' Association and the Port Area Grain Committee.
