SPEAKERS arguing in favour and against subsidising public transport will take the stage at the annual transport symposium at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in April.
Entitled Efficient public transport for the 1980s, the symposium will open with an address entitled Efficiency in public transport presented by David Bayliss of the Greater London Council.
The contribution of research to public transport efficiency will then be outlined.
