NATIONAL Bus subsidiary Southdown has applied a new flat fare system to its Haywards Heath area buses.
The area has been split into four zones with a fare of 10p for journeys in one zone and 16p for journeys to two or more zones.
The scheme is to be given a six-month trial. It involves some passengers having to pay increased fares and on some long journey rides paying reduced fares.
