Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• One of the first Guy drawbar units is to be put into service next month on TIR operations by Ackworth Continental Ltd. The company — which in 1955 was one of the first British hauliers to start international operations — will use the outfit on runs to many places on the Continent, and to Switzerland in particular.

Swiss regulations permit operation only at 21 tons gross and the plan is to leave the trailer at the frontier and deliver Swiss-bound consignments with -the drawing unit. Bodywork is currently being built by an associate company, Harrisons of Dewsbury Ltd, and the vehicle should be making its first trip by the beginning of next month.

The Guy Big IT has an 18ft-wheelbase, a Cummins NH 220 engine and a Fuller 610 gearbox. The sleeper cab is a version of the familiar Motor Panels cab and is believed to be the first to be fitted to a Guy drawbar outfit. The sleeper means a loss of 211 in the body length which is accordingly reduced to 2211.
