During his presentation, you'll hear all about the new graduated fixed penalties and how they affect operators as well as drivers; the latest digitach and record-keeping rules; the forthcoming changes to the Transport Tribunal the truck operators' "Court of Appeal" and other key legal need-to-know topics.

Next, John Corner, product manager for UK and Ireland at Volvo Trucks, will explain all the legislation coming out of Brussels that affects the trucks you run and buy including Euro-5 emissions regs, vehicle stability control systems and other items in the European Commission's road safety programme, as well as what the latest headlamp aim tests from VOSA mean.

After a short break we'll look at how to solve the problems of working at height and how to reduce accidents around HGVs with Phil Murphy, network operations director for Royal Mail. He'll be bringing along Royal Mail's thought-provoking Safety Concept Artic (CM 21 May) to provide a practical demonstration on how to keep drivers out of harm's way.

Then it's time to hear from Neil Barlow, head of enforcement at VOSA, on how the agency will be applying the law governing the Drivers' CPC at the roadside and what VOSA expects from you as the "controlling force': •
