Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The privatisation of National Bus Company continues following the return of the Conservatives, with the management buyout of Wilts and Dorset Bus Company, the 36th NBC subsidiary to be sold off since the privatisation programme started less than a year ago.

The successful managementbuyout team comprises Hugh Malone, who becomes managing director; Andrew Bryce, operations and marketing director; and Rodney Luxton, engineering director.

They will be assisted by Douglas Smith CBE, chairman of the Salisbury regional board of Lloyds Bank, who will become chairman of the new company.

The management's bid was chosen in preference to a number of other companies, both inside and outside of the PSV industry.

W&D employs some 540 staff and runs 210 buses from seven depots, covering the coastal area of Swanage to Lymington and inland to Salisbury. All employees will be given the opportunity to take up shares in the new company.
