BRAKES Air pressure operated footbrake on all wheels. Single leading shoe cam expanded. Air-assisted mechanical handbrake to rear bogie. Brake drums 154 in. dia.; linings 4 in. thick x 5 in. wide front and 8 in. wide rear. Footbrake friction area, 1,544 sq. in.; handbrake friction area, 952 sq. in.

SUSPENSION Front: Semi elliptic leaf springs 3 in. wide. Telescopic double-acting hydraulic dampers on both axles. Rear: Semi elliptic leaf springs 34 in. wide. Both springs on each side are interconnected at shackles by balance beam.

FRAME Bolted construction. Channel section side and cross members. Maximum section, 121n. deep x 3 in. flange width x in. thick. A channel section flitch, ;!, in, thick is fitted inside frame between front and rear axles on 14 ft. 54 in. wheelbase models. Front bumper and twin front towing eyes.

FUEL SUPPLY 48-gallon tank. WHEELS AND TYRES 9.00-20, radial steel cord tyres on B6.5 three-piece discs, single front and twin rear. Spare wheel and tyre and, on 17 ft. 2 in. wheelbase model, an underframe carrier.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT 24-volt insulated return lighting and starting. Alternator of 30 amp. maximum output, with transistorised control. Lead-acid batteries of 110 amp.-hr. capacity. Side lamps, headlamps, combined rear lamp units, twin horns, direction indicators.

INSTRUMENTS Speedometer with total distance recorder, oil pressure gauge, air pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, ammeter, indicator lights for generator and headlamps main beam.

ERGOMATIC CAB All steel construction; resiliently mounted to frame; arranged to tilt forward for access to engine. Deep curved one-piece windscreen of zone toughened glass; quarter lights front and rear; rear view windows.
