LTHOUGH New Zealand assembled /A a record number of vehicles in 195758, her total of commercial vehicles showed a drop on the previous year. In 1957-58, 42,486 vehicles were assembled, of which 6,318 were commercial vehicles (other than tractors). The previous year 7,411 commercial vehicles were made out of a total of 39,528. During the year, 6,610 commercial vehicles were imported, of which 666 were ready assembled. In the first six months of 1958, the full previous year's figures were beaten, with 7,097 commercial vehicles imported.
