Police operations Police teams ha %c been set up to deal with the main organised truck-crime gangs. They include: Operation Indicate in the Midlands: Operation Grafton in Middlesex (targeting truck crime of over ,E25.000 linked to Heathrow Airport): and Operation Blade in Essex which has recently concluded a case now before the courts.

On Merseyside there is just one police officer dedicated to profiling the truck criminals in the area.These profiles can then be sent out to other forces throughout the country.

Truck-crime intelligence unit Truckpol operates nationally and is linked to the Met Police. Alerts on the Truckpol and Operation Indicate websites flag up truck crime around the country.
