Michael Powell from Deal was stopped on 13 July last year while carrying 35.27 tonnes. His tractor was plated for weights up to 38 tonnes — but only when he used the appropriate trailer unit, said Richard Pi!borough of the Kent County trading standands department. The trailer being used by Powell brought the maximum weight down to 32.52 tonnes.
