• Securicor has created a new parcels division responsible for all UK and European parcels services.
It will be run by Pat Howes as divisional chief executive. lie has been with the company for 20 years, the past six as UK parcels director.
Under him will be Richard Benson, who until now headed the Securicor-owned motorcycle courier service Pony Express. He becomes managing director, UK parcels. Rob Andrews will he managing director, European parcels. Also reporting to Howes will he finance director Richard Hawkins and a sales and marketing director who is still to be appointed.
Securicor's other five divisions are now security, communications, transport, special services and motor holdings. The diversified group owns Bedwas Bodybuilders and several lveco Ford truck and Ford car dealerships. The changes come six months after the appointment of Roger Wiggs as Securicor group chief executive.
E Securicor Express's 28 million computerised sorting system for its 120 branches was installed in its first branch, Hayes, Middlesex, last month (CM 1-7 December 1988).
