Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I sincerely hope the Herts / Essex round of the Commercial Motor Lorry Driver of the Year Competition will not lapse this year. It is the successor to the Essex contest at Southend-on-Sea which my old friend: Eddy Barber, finals commentator extraordinary, nursed for many troubled years and saved from total extinction by moving it to a new site in Hertfordshire.

He emigrated to Canada in September, 1977, and is now in the rag trade in Toronto, helping a friend to build up a new business with*, he told me, a staff of ''Chinese (three sorts), Portuguese, Spaniards, Italians, Greeks, Yugoslays, Indians (red and turbaned kind), Negroes (three sorts) and one Canadian. The language barriers are at times enormous. I just wave my arms and shout."

I can imagine no situation in which Eddy would be lost for words.
