Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

"DOR over eight years Messrs. Thomas Sivers, Old Oak Common Lane, Acton, London, W.3, has run fleets of vehicles, numbering up to 40, on everyday haulage duty, principally in connection with sand and ballast work, which to-day is one of the most arduous types of haulage work. Many of the vehicles used have been of Peerless origin This contractor is now producing new four-wheeled 5-6-tonners under the name Sivers (Peerless design). The c24 tipping lorry complete with an enclosed cab and the St. Paul or Hydraulic Hoist tipping gear costs £850, whilst the chassis, complete with front wings and bonnet, is priced at £700. The well-known four-cylindered Peerless engine is employed. It has a special cooling system, incorporating a radiator built by Commercial Radiators, Ltd. The drive is through a cone clutch with a special stop and a tubular propeller shaft, with flexible disc-type joints, to the gearbox differential unit. Eighty-ton steel is employed in the gearbox and I20-ton steel for the differential parts. In later models the gearbox, with central control, will be mounted below the cab, but the differential casing will remain in the present position. The final drive to the rear wheels is by chain.

External-contracting brakes controlled by pedal, operate upon drums on the jack-shafts, whilst the hand brake operates shoes in drums in the rear wheels. Standard tyre equipment consists of pneumatics on the front wheels and 40-in. by 6-in, solids on the steel rear wheels. All bearings are of Hoffmann manufacture. The vehicle is extremely substantially built and future models will have a 12-in. deep frame. Oil or electric lighting may be specified, according • to requirements.

A noteworthy point in connection with the Sivers is that a fuel consumption of one gallon for 10 miles is guaranteed.
