We record with regret the deaths of James R. Meek and Mrs Sara Patterson.

Mr Meek aged 60, spent his entire business career in road transport engineering. He was an active member of the IRTE, and for 16 years was fleet engineer with Allisons Freightlines Ltd of Dundee. For the past four years he has been fleet engineer with Christian Salvesen Ltd of Edinburgh.

Mrs Patterson, a pioneer in public road transport in Northern Ireland, died in Bangor, Co. Down, at the age 100. Mrs Patterson founded the Windsor Bus Service.
