Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Old sailors will remember the middle-watch "wakey wakey": "Pssst ! Want to buy a battleship mate ?" This week I've heard of the first man ever to say " Yes." He is Leeds haulage contractor Barry Wilkinson, who plans to buy the old H Class destroyer HMS Hotspur. After war service she was sold to the Dominican Republic and now

languishes in the West Indies sun.

Now Barry wants to tow her home, but at £1,800 a day towing charge for a three-week job he's got a little problem; in fact, nearer a £40,000 problem. Says the ever optimistic Barry : "If every ex-sailor gave £1 that would be more than enough." Good luck, cheeky.
