THIS year's annual tipping convention is likely to be bigger and better than ever.

The whole of the Harrogate exhibition complex has been reserved for manufacturers to show vehicles and auxiliary equipment and on the Saturday, May 1 there will be a demonstration of tippers under working conditions at Knaresborough.

The four-day conference will also include an outside exhibi tion of 40 vehicles and trailers making it the biggest exhibition of tipping equipment ever seen in Britain.

On the business side, speakers at the conference will include CM publisher Mr Brian Cottee, Conservative MP for Shipley Mr Marcus Fox, and United Road Transport Union general secretary Mr Jackson Moore.

An innovation will be an additional business session at which hauliers will be encouraged to discuss interchange of traffic.

The conference is organised by the Road Haulage Association, which has also laid on a full social programme. Ladies attending will go to a formal lunch on Friday, April 30 at which the speaker will be Lady Isobel Barnet.

The conference is being held at Hotel Majestic, Harrogate, on April 29 and 30 and May 1 and 2. Details are available from the convention secretary, Mr Bill Farnorth, RHA Ltd, Roadway House, 120 Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester.

There are now no tickets left for the social events, which are to be admission by ticket only.
