I AST week Mr. Justice Vaisey gave leave to serve notice of motion with a writ in an action brought by W. H. Smith, of Buntingford, against the London Transport Executive, claiming an injunction to restrain the Executive from operating a road passenger service between Hitchin and Weston. The motion is returnable on April 6.

Counsel who made the application was Mr. G. R. Morris, instructed by Mr. Norman Letts. "The Commercial Motor" reported last week that action was being taken in the matter The Board is alleged to have instituted an entirely new service, without a licence, under Section 65 of the Transport Act. The case for the plaintiff is understood to be that a scheme should have been prepared under Sections 63 and 64 of the Act, or application should have been made to the Licensing Authority in the ordinary way.

BULWARK SHARE TRANSFER

THE whole of' the issued share capital of Bulwark Transport, Ltd., has been acquired by Red and White United Transport, Ltd. The capital comprises 16,045 ordinary shares of £1 each. In exchange, 48,135 ordinary shares of £1, fully paid, have been issued. The Bulwark concern operates a substantial number of milk tankers.
