Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WEST MIDLANDS PTE's Solihull dial-a-bus service has been replaced by a conventional route using the same midibuses.

Begun in December 1975, the service to the Dorridge and Knowle areas has been worked with 10 Ford-based Alexander S-type vehicles, but was costing up to £3,000 per week to run.

A lower cost fixed route has been devised for the replacement service, and this follows the most popular paths chosen by passengers who telephoned the service's control centre.

Local WMFTE operations manager Graham Simons said: "The economic considerations have been a strong influence in deciding to end the scheme although it has had tremendous social benefits which are hard to put a price on."
