VOITH fully automatic gearboxes are now being offered as factory-fitted options on Volvo Ailsa double-deckers.
Following successful trials on a South Yorkshire PTE vehicle (see CM September 15 feature), the 35ft jumbo Ailsa for China Motor Bus in Hong Kong and a standard UK model for Tayside are being equipped with Voith D851 three-speed gearboxes.
