STRIKING preliminary tests of the

light alloy chassisless vehicle designed by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., under the mgis of the general manager, Mr. D. M. Sinclair, have been made on the Belgian pavd track at the M.I.R.A. proving ground near Nuneaton. After a few runs at varying speeds, it completed, with entire satisfaction, 30 circuits non-stop at 30 m.p.h., which, according to the M.I.R.A, calculation, is equal to 30,000 miles on normal roads in this country.

OBITUARY WE regret to announce the death of vv Ma. Joint BLACK, Scottish divisional manager of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and Me. T. D. H. BROWN, acting general secretary of the National Federation of Vehicle Traders. Mr. Black was 54 and was at one time with

Albion Motors, Ltd. Mr. Brown, a solicitor, was 65 and joined the N.F.V.T. in 1946. He became acting general secretary on the recent death of MR. E. C. M. BURRELL, general secretary of the Federation.
