Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Leyland Motors

Last year we decided to extend our fleet of heavy recovery trucks and purchased an ex-WD FV 1119 Leyland Martian 6x6 fitted with a petrol engine and hydraulic recovery gear. During the rebuilding of this machine and its conversion to diesel the petrol engine and gearbox were replaced and the chassis extended by eight inches.

This vehicle had originally been produced for a Ministry of Supply contract, so you may imagine the problem facing us in tracing part numbers, etc, was considerable to say the least. We would like to place on record the utmost assistance we had from Leylandis technical services department and latterly when we urgently required hydraulic ram seals, Mr Parker of the parts marketing division went to untold trouble to trace the original maker and the source of supply for them.

In closing we would like to point out that the only connection we have with Leyland is that of a very satisfied and grateful customer. T. CARRUTHERS, Carruthers of Carrutherstown, Dumfriesshire.
