Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• X-Amp, from Driftgate, an innovative motor vehicle power supply device, has been developed for the breakdown engineer.

A compact unit, it can be fitted to any 12V system. When activated at the breakdown site, it isolates and bypasses the battery and standard electrics, to provide a safe regulated ancillary 12 or 24V d/c current, rectified off Driftgate's unit bypasses the battery to supply power, particularly to engineers in repeated heavyduly call-outs. the alternator. It is safe to work on sealed-for-life batteries, and also features a boost charge facility.

As a result, the original battery and electrics are unaffected by repeated high-duty operations, the need for "lugging" heavy-duty batteries to site is overcome, and the engineer is afforded greater flexibility with a 12 or 24V d/c supply immediately on tap, up to the maximum capacity of the alternator. In this way a small van or car can be adapted to repeatedly re-start even very large mobile plant, or operate 12 or 24V d/c hand tools, or flood lighting and so on.
