Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Useful Morris and Morris-Commercial Vehicles Displayed by Stewart and Ardern, Ltd.

ALTHOGH mainly intended to interest representatives of municipalities, the displayof vehicles organised by Stewart and Ardern, Ltd., at the company's spacious showrooms at 371, Easton Road, London, NAVA, has attracted many commercial users, who were very favourably impressed by the comprehensive range shown.

The display, which was opened on November 17th and closes on the 26th, comprises about 50 chassis of Morris or Morris-Commercial manufacture, upon which are mounted bodies suitable for numerous diverse purposes, the majority of these, as we have intimated above, being for municipal use.

Amongst the most interesting of these

hose of 4 ins, diameter, and a set of Pyrene extinguishers.

Another vehicle featuring prominently in this range is the treble-purpose municipal appliance, in which a Morris-Commercial Z chassis carries a well-construeted body built by Tuke and Bell, Ltd., Lichfield, Staffordshire. This vehicle, being equipped with a tipping

This interesting display is completed by a number of chassis with Esanday bodywork suitable for many uses. We noted that a feature is being made by this concern of vehicles which • come within the £16 tax limit.

Outstanding in this category is the Esanday light laundry van, which sells at the low price of 1230. A Morris

vehicles may be classed the 30-cwt. fireengine by Morris-Commercial Cars, Ltd., the chassis being the Z5 model. This excellent machine, which is fully equipped with up-to-date fire-fighting appliances, sells at the remarkably low figure of £748, or £810 if supplied with special first-aid equipment, and is thus specially calculated to appeal to the smaller municipalities. The equipment of this vehicle includes a Owynne centrifugal pump raising 250 gals, of water per minute, a 30-ft. extension ladder, four 10-ft. lengths of armoured suction body fitted with a detachable cover, aud a special sand-throwing apparatus, can be used for refuse collecting, as an openbodied lorry, or for road gritting. The price of this machine complete is £388.

Undoubtedly one of the most highly finished vehicles on view is the de luxe model traveller's brougham. This is a really remarkable job and comprises a well-built and roomy fabric body of neat appearance, mounted on an example of the 14-28 h.p. Morris-Oxford chassis. It sells at £255, which is certainly most reasonable. Commercial light 1-ton chassis is used in this vehicle, and the body, although extremely light and roomy, being approximately 7 ft. 6 ins. long, 5 ft. wide, and 5 ft. 3 ins. deep, is strongly constructed and undoubtedly constitutes an advance in its type. The weight of this vehicle with full equipment is only 191 cwt., so, besides coming within the £16 tax category, it should possess advantages on the score of fuel economy. As will be seen from the accompanying illustration; a workmanlike appearance

is another feature of this vehicle. •
