Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE TRANSPORT & General Workers Union (T&G) has responded angrily to claims that Tesco is attempting to derecognise union workers at its Edinburgh depot and plans a vigorous response to the supermarket giants "arrogance and forthright attitude".

The union accuses Tesco of "divide and rule" tactics and warns of a strike ballot by drivers at the company's distribution centre in Livingston. It claims Tesco is attempting to impose new terms and conditions on the drivers when the depot moves 500 yards down the road.

Now the T&G has convened a meeting of its shop stewards throughout Tosco to discuss what it sees as the supermarket's failure to engage in negotiations. T&G national secretary for transport, Ron Webb, says attempts to meet with the company to discuss the problem have been "flatly rejected".

Tesco failed to return CM'S cads as we went to press.
