Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Renault Truck Industries has sold its first R420-19T in the UK. The R420 is the only maximum-weight tractive unit in Europe to be fitted with disc brakes on the front axles.

The R420, which is only being offered in the UK in lefthand-drive form, is powered by Renault's charge-cooled 08.35.30 vee-eight engine, delivering 315kW (422hp) at 2,100 rpm and 1,752Nm. The launch retail price of the chassis cab is 256,650.

To incorporate the disc braking system, Renault has developed a new steering axle which includes pre-stressed integral wheel bearings which have an estimated life twice as long as conventional bearings. Renault uses the P1345 hubreduction axle to save weight and improve ground clearance.

The vehicle has gone into service with Burnley-based Geoff Royale SLR Transport, and was supplied by CGL in Manchester.

Renault will supply the R420 in high-roof, sleeper-cab form with special maroon metallic

paint finish-and decals. An air dam is fitted complete with two driving lamps and two fog

lamps, and the cab has fourpoint suspension and an hydraulic tilt.
