Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NORTHERN IRELAND operators stand to benefit from the expansion of Freight Transport Association activities to the province.

The PTA's Scottish region, headed by controller Gordon Dougall, has established an office at 22 Great Victoria Street, Belfast BT2 7BJ (phone 0232 241616, telex 777415), from which a regional vehicle inspector will operate in the near future.

An assistant secretary will be appointed to run the ETA's Northern Ireland af

fairs as work develops.

A principal objective of the new office is to provide direct representation to the Northern Ireland Department of the Environment, which is responsible for transport matters in the province.

It also aims to provide advice on the problems of land frontiers with the Irish Republic and on Customs procedures which apply there.
