A Resurnj of the Two Papers Read at the Conference of the Municipal Tramways and Transport Association Which Ends To-day in Glasgow THE 33rd annual conference of the Municipal Tramways and Transport Association opened at Glasgow on Wednesday last, and concludes to-day with a cruise on the Firth of Clyde. The formal reception took place on Tuesday evening, and on the following day there was a meeting of the Council of the Association and a civic welcome by the Lord Provost. The presidential address was delivered by Mr. Lachlan Mackinnon, J.P., general manager of the transport department of Glasgow Corporation, and later the general meeting of the Association took place. During the morning, Mr. W. Vane :Worland, A.M.I.Mech.E., M.I.A.E., M.Inst.T., general manager of the transport department of Leeds Corporation, read a paper entitled " Slum-clearance Transport Problems." Yes-, terday (Thursday) Mr. W. Allan Irvine, of the transport department of Glasgow Corporation, read a paper entitled " Publicity in Transport," and the day's proceedings were brought to a close with the annual dinner of the Association.
