Webster for Metro

TREVOR Webster, sales and marketing director of Leyland's passenger vehicle division, is to join MetroCammell Weymann. They make the Metro bus, one of the Leyland Titan's rivals in the "battle of the deckers".

Meeting the EEC

THE Department of Transport has circulated draft proposals to change public service vehicles COF regulations to meet European Community regulations.

Proposals include alterations in gangway widths and provision for emergency exits in single-deck vehicle roofs.

New Devon range

DEVON Conversions of Sidmouth have announced a new range of minibuses based on the Volkswagen LT range of light commercials.

For the first time, a psv version is introduced. To meet regulations, the exhaust pipe has been re-routed and the fuel tank is now relocated between the wheelbase.

Sixteen-seater crewbus and 15-seater minibus non-psv versions are also available.

The VW LT is powered by the 2-litre petrol engine used in the Audi 100 car and a Perkins 2.7 litre diesel.
