r-IN Tuesday the Ministry Of Trans port informed The Commercial. Motor" that .5,743 applications for original permits had been received from hauliers by the Road Haulage Executive. Another 7,000 operators had applied for forms, but had not yet returned them. They have until next Tuesday to do so, otherwise they may lose the right, after the " appointed day," to operate outside a radius of 25 miles.
This may be a serious matter for hauliers who do substantial longdistance work.
