Britain is not the only country where the problem of evolving covered-top

buses is receiving attention. In the U.S.A. considerable efforts are being made, and several fairly successful designs have been brought out.

• A speaker at a recent meeting in Detroit declared that a fleet of 67 passenger buses with enclosed upper decks could easily transport 12,000 seated passengers per hour over an avers ge city street. The great need was
